England, North Curry,
August 31 – September 30, 2019
We had never heard of North Curry and were not entirely sure where it was. But, from the moment our homeowners, Claire and Nick, picked us up at the train station we knew it was special. And, the animals put it over the top.
Frank, our totally independent cat demanded food and our attention with great regularity.
Nancy, was stuck to Bev like glue and loved playing with her big (and we mean BIG) brother Pilot every morning while we had our coffee in the “family room”.
And Pilot, our BIG Lab, could gently pick the most ripe blackberries off the thorn filled vines with the dexterity of a seasoned jewel thief. And, he loved his corn, only the freshest ears would do.
U.S. – Murrieta, California
July 3 – July 27, 2019
The Temecula, California area is well known as one of the top wine regions in the U.S. It also has great dogs, cats, and horses.
During our 3 week pet sit we cared for 2 very mischievous Bengal cats, Niko and Kai, and an 8 month old Vizsla named Noki. It took us a few days to get Niko and Noki straight, but other than that the sit has been pure joy (once we got used to the insane California traffic).
As for horses, there are loads of ranches in this area. We go to one in Temecula every time we visit the area. Another, at the end of the street we’ve be living on is a breeding ranch with dozens of magnificent Moms and their beautiful babies. We could sit and watch them try to figure out why Noki isn’t as tall as they are for hours. Noki actually tries to get under the fence to go inside and play. He is certain they would be a blast to run with.
And, of course, Niko and Kai, did a marvelous job guarding the Costco delivery.
France (Crest, Bordeaux, Lauzun, Troyes) February 26-May 26, 2019
Paris, France May 23, – May 26, 2019
Our stay in Paris was magical. The Airbnb Apartment was lovely and only a couple of blocks from The Louvre. As usual, we walked and walked, rain or shine, and feasted on the culinary delights that only Paris is known for. The images below are some of our favorites from a walk to Notre Dame and St, Germain, the Louvre,, and the Paris Opera.
